Hordes of delirious girls — and even some adults — swarmed a midtown bookstore for a glimpse of teen queen Miley Cyrus.
The line outside Barnes & Noble on Fifth Ave. stretched around the block as early as 5 a.m., nearly 12 hours before the Disney superstar started signing copies of her memoir “Miles to Go” Thursday afternoon.
“Miley Cyrus is bigger than the Beatles, oh my God,” crowed Sherri Berman, 15, of Westchester, who was clutching a rhinestone-encrusted scrap book she made for her hero.
“Miley is a goddess, so who cares about the cold?” said Haley Schulman, 16, who was in town from Connecticut.
“Everything she does is great.”
But it wasn’t only young girls who were eager to glimpse the 16-year-old “Hannah Montana” actress.
Very first in the line was Mark Shapp, 20, of Portland, Maine, who showed up around 9 p.m. Tuesday to claim his prime spot.
“Miley Cyrus is the greatest of the greats and she is also a beautiful person,” he declared. “I’ve seen every show a million times and I can’t get enough.”
Not far behind him was Mark McLeod, 45, waiting in a tent with boxes full of jewelry he was planning to bestow on Cyrus.
“I know everything about her. Everything,” he said, somewhat ominously. “I’m her biggest fan.”
The starlet signed copies of her new book, which chronicles her road to pop superstardom, only for the first 500 fans in line.
She was greeted by euphoric shrieks from virtually every fan, and some tweens were ready to collapse afterward.
“I’m gonna pass out,” said Savannah Ordonez, 12. “Miley looked and sounded exactly as she does on TV. She was awesome. She even told me I have nice teeth.”

“They shoved me in. I was trapped. I banged on the door until my fists hurt. Nobody came,” so she recalled in the book. “I spent what felt like an hour in there, waiting for someone to rescue me, wondering how my life had gotten so messed up.”

“The girls took it beyond normal bullying. These were big, tough girls,” Miley continued giving further description about her haters whom she referred to as “the Anti-Miley Club.” She then added, “I was scrawny and short. They were fully capable of doing me bodily harm.”

And “it seemed like Operation Make Miley Miserable was escalating to a new level. More like Operation Take Miley Down,” she revealed the time when she became the target of bullying by “the Anti-Miley Club”. “Three girls strutted up and stood towering over me. My stomach churned. I clutched my grilled cheese sandwich like it was the hand of my best friend. It pretty much was my best friend those days. I was done for.”

“They started cussing me and telling me to get up. I sat there, frozen. I didn’t know what to do,” Miley continued. “Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore. I wasn’t chicken. What could they do to me? I was surrounded by people. I stood up, still a foot shorter then they were, and said, ‘What’s your problem? What did I ever do to you?'” And so, Miley was involved in a brawl with “the Anti-Miley Club” before the school principal intervened them.

In addition to Miley Cyrus’ pre-teen years, “Miley Cyrus: Miles To Go,” which hits bookstores on Tuesday, March 3, also gives a peek on the actress-singer’s rise to fame and heartbreak with a fellow Disney star.

It looked like a welcome break for Miley, who received criticism recently after a controversial picture surfaced of the star seemingly mocking Asians.

The photograph, taken with her boyfriend and a group of friends, shows the teenager pulling the corners of her eyes back.

After the image was leaked on to the internet, Asian American groups condemned the pose as ‘racist’ and demanded an apology from the teenager.

The singer used her official website to hit back at the accusations.

She wrote: ‘I’ve been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces!

Aged 15 at the time, Miley was pictured with just a sheet across her chest.

Following the outcry from family groups and outraged parents, she said: ‘I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed.

A Tennessee teenager who was raided last October for hacking the Gmail account of teen star Miley Cyrus cracked multiple celebrity accounts for a spamming scheme that netted him at least $100,000, according to an affidavit filed by an FBI agent who questioned the teen. The affidavit was obtained by WTVF Channel 5 in Tennessee.

Josh Holly, 19, told Threat Level last October that he obtained access to Cyrus’s Gmail account and stole personal photos from it, which he posted on the web. He also said he obtained access to MySpace’s administrative panel by social engineering an employee, then reset account passwords for a number of MySpace users. He used the accounts for a spamming scheme that netted him about $50,000. Holly didn’t provide details at the time.

But the newly released affidavit (.pdf) provides a few more hints about this activity. According to the document, Holly admitted to the FBI agent that since 2005 he had hijacked numerous celebrity internet accounts, which he used to conduct spamming. The affidavit doesn’t mention MySpace specifically in connection with this activity. An investigation of Holly’s bank records showed that between November 2007 and July 2008, Holly received more than $110,000 from companies for spamming on their behalf.

The affidavit also reveals that Holly spilled the names of associates to the FBI.

Additionally, Holly corresponded with MySpace’s director of security over the course of several months and provided the company with information regarding “MySpace system weaknesses and potential intrustions,” according to the document. In exchange for this information, Holly asked the security director to reactivate his MySpace account, which had been suspended for “suspicious or inappropriate behavior.”

Holly made no attempt to hide his identity from MySpace. He gave the MySpace security director a Gmail address with his real name, and the MySpace account he wanted re-activated was under his real name. MySpace also had a photo of him, which he had used when he opened the account.

UPDATE: Holly called Threat Level and provided some clarification and additional details about the affidavit and the discrepancy regarding the amount of money he told me he earned from spamming and the amount the affidavit said he earned.

He said he received about $110,000 total, but half of that went to an accomplice in Israel who goes by the online nickname elul21 (which stands for the accomplice’s birthdate — Elul is the Hebrew name of a month on the Jewish calendar). The accomplice mostly provided Holly with marketing ideas.

Holly said the celebrity MySpace accounts he accessed to conduct his spamming activity belonged mainly to recording artists and groups — Chris Brown, Rihanna, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy. He accessed about 20 accounts but can’t remember all of them. Once he had the password to the account — which he obtained through the MySpace admin panel (the admin panel stored the passwords in cleartext) — he used the accounts to send bulletins to all of the friends on a MySpace account advertising a ringtone or call service for the recording artist. For example, he’d send out a bulletin from Fall Out Boy’s MySpace account telling fans that the band would call their phone and send them a ringtone if they clicked on a link and entered their details.

Holly says the advertising affiliates he worked for paid him between $5 and $12 per person who responded to the ad. The affiliates didn’t know he was spamming customers, and when they found out he said they terminated their work with him and refused to pay him outstanding earnings.

Although Holly was raided last October, during which FBI agents seized his phone and computers, authorities only sought a search warrant last month to conduct a forensic examination of his hardware. I asked Holly if he’s concerned that the investigation was heating up.

“A little bit,” he said. “Once I go to court I can’t say ‘not guilty’. There’s no way I can get out of this at all. Not even OJ’s lawyers or Michael Jackson’s lawyers can get me out of this. To be blunt, I was an idiot and I didn’t delete any of my [hard drives]. I never thought they would raid me. They’re going to get full proof evidence of everything that I’ve said I’ve done.”

He said he’s left Tennessee and has been lying low, trying to find a legitimate job to earn money

: Miley Cyrus, 16, took the time to tell the world a little bit about her upcoming Hannah Montana movie on the Oscar red carpet. And she thinks her film debut could be an Oscar contender!

When ABC asked her about the cinematic version of her Disney television show, she said that she hoped it would bring her back to the red carpet next year.

“I can’t wait. Hopefully, I’ll be here getting something next year.”

Cyrus also added that the film is going to be “deeper, and a lot more serious” than people would think.

While tonight’s Academy Awards program and presenters are shrouded in mystery, Miley Cyrus has made at least one agenda clear: Angelina Jolie or bust!

As the first star to arrive on the red carpet at the Kodak Theater, 16-year-old Cyrus stopped to chat up E!’s Ryan Seacrest about her ZoomWorthy dress and her most desired star sighting.

“It weighs more than me,” Cyrus said of heavily layered full-length beige number, complete with black and white crushed beading detail, “it weighs like 100,000 pounds.”

No surprise she dressed her best, including $500,000 Neil Lane earrings, she’s desperate to impress Mrs. Brad Pitt.

When Secreast asked who Cryrus’ number one celeb sighting of the night was, she blurted out Jolie’s name without missing a beat.

“I love her and she’s beautiful,” Miley gushed, “she can, like, adopt me if she wants.”

At least Miley’s mom Tish has a consolation prize if Miley decamps to Team Jolie-Pitt. As her official date (was Justin Gaston busy with tennis?), mom Tish had the thrill of rocking her first serious pair of earrings.

“My mom is wearing her first pair of diamond earrings to an event,” Cyrus said.
